In a parallel world, I would: be training as a professional gymnast and then travelling back regularly for competitions in the world we all live in now, because a parallel world sounds like an excellent place to practice parallel bars!

Instead, I am: burying myself in plants and pipette tips, helping coach the judo club and using conservation as my way of staying in touch with the Peak District. I’m also avoiding gymnastics completely (now seems a bit late to start parallel bars…also I can’t think of a way to get into a parallel world for me to practice).

Best thing about SUCV: getting outdoors and hanging out with like-minded conservationists - especially on our residential trips, which are fab!

Name: Euan Berry

In a parallel world, I would: be the host of Grand Designs

Instead, I am: planning incredible residentials

Best thing about SUCV: seeing different parts of Sheffield and helping local people out!

Name: Ashleigh Courage

Committee Role: Task Ranger

Course: Environmental Science, 4th Year

In a parallel world, I would: Live at the top of a mountain, be fluent in 27 languages and have  pool filled with jelly.

Instead, I am: Eating my own body weight in avocado everyday and spending an inordinate amount of time culturing fungi for my master’s.

Best thing about SUCV: Getting out into the peaks and meeting like-minded people.

Name: Ellie Absalom

Committee Role: Task Ranger

Course: Environmental Science, 3rd year

In a parallel world, I would: Have got my hogwarts letter, been on a walking holiday in Middle-Earth, road-tripped through time and (relative dimensions in) space and played the game at 221b Baker Street before hopping on a spaceship for journeys in a galaxy far, far away…

Instead, I am: Writing this and weeping

Best thing about SUCV: Getting outside, enjoying nature, giving back. Oh, and thermos tea.

Name: Sadia Yaqub

Best thing about SUCV: Getting fresh air!

Name: Laura Stafford

Committee Role: Outreach and Inclusions Officer

Course: Environmental Science, 4th year

In a parallel world, I would: Live in a beautiful, hot country, probably in a tree house!

Best thing about SUCV:  Getting outdoors while making new friends (and the free biscuits)

Name: Cuiying Ma (Tracey)

Best thing about SUCV:  Residentials! - being stuck in the middle of nowhere losing connections of the social world lol
